I went to the zoo today with a friend to take pictures, and the prairie dogs are pretty much a mandatory stop because their enclosure is very photographer-friendly. It's fairly natural without fences or glass; in fact, you can get extremely close to them. So close that at one point in time I was leaning on the stone edge and almost put my hand down atop of a prairie dog that was half submerged in a burrow it had dug right beside the edge of the enclosure.
The same prairie dog who, later when my friend Clicky was trying to shoot some photos of some other prairie dogs, decided to stroll up to and attempt to steal a button off her coat.
