Beginning's end

Dear America.

I took this photo today and thought of you for the obvious reasons.

Then I took this one and I thought it was actually more appropriate; it's a willow tree that was struck by lightning. The core has been hollowed out and hardened by fire. But in it's dead heart was another tree, a tiny little oak, stronger and more resilient than a willow, rising from the ashes.

So take from that what you will.

P.S. Giving the first responders the health care they so direly need and deserve would be a nice way to remember and honor the memory of the fallen. Just a suggestion.
